秩父を拠点に活動する木工作家のうだまさしさん。
舞台美術や家具の制作などを経て、現在はテーブルウェアなどを主に手がけている。
高校からデザインを学び、北欧デザインからアフリカの民芸品まで、
様々なジャンルのものづくりへの興味と引き出しを持ちながら、
日々、新たな柄や手法を取り入れて、作品を生み出している。
うださんの、自然溢れる秩父のご自宅兼アトリエに伺い、お話を伺って来た。
インタビューvol.1は彼の人となりや生活について。

1) Could you describe yourself in 5 words?
A : curious, challenge, fun, sharp、natural, body
2) Where were you born and raised?
A : I was born in Akita Prefecture and raised in Chiba Prefecture.
３） Do you have any big news recently?
A : My son was born! It’s my first parenting experience.
４）Could you tell me the good points about your new house?
A : The sounds of the river and silence.
５）Could you tell me what Chichibu fascinates you?
A : Mountain and river, nature
６）How do you spend your time every day?
A : Preparing for the breakfast→work→having lunch at home→work→
snack time (important)→work→having dinner

A : Green of the nature and silence.
